Hey Everybody,
Been awhile since I lasted posted. I wanted to let everyone know that we are still framing for the holidays. We will frame right up to this last possible time. Which will be Dec 23. We are taking off the 24th-26th. Hope everyone is getting ready for Christmas. We have been doing a lot of Happy Birthday Banners, so if you want to make a statement on someones Birthday come in and get one made up and then see the expression on that persons face…
Well that’s all I have time for now. It’s been crazy and we look forward to seeing all of you soon. So that’s it from your friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital print shop.

Well I haven’t been as good as I should be about writing this Blog. So I thought I would just talk about all the flags we have been framing in shadow boxes. A lot of people are wanting to save the flags that went through the tornado. They have been ripped up but still have a lot of sentimental value. So if you have a flag you would like to frame so it will last, bring it down. Whether it went through the tornado or not we can take care of it so it will last a lifetime. Just remember it needs to be sewn down and conservation glass used so it won’t fade.

Well that’s all for now from you friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital printing shop. I guess I should mention printing banners, window pref and vinyl stickers. Thanks to all of Joplin for all the support.

Hey Everyone,

Wanted to keep everyone updated. We just received our new printer. It’s a Epson GS6000. With new addition we just increased our offerings. We can now do banners, wall graphics, and much much more. I’m learning each day of all the new exciting stuff we can do. I’m going to be adding a page to the website that explains more in-depth of all we can do. I’ve put it in the front show room. So come by and take a peek.

Also for those that don’t know we do art reproduction. What it entails is bringing your original piece of artwork in and I scan on one of the most advanced scanner for doing this work (It’s the Betterlight system. www.betterlight.com). You can check out their website. It explains in detail the system. Then color matching the digital file to the original work. Comes out looking great.

I think that’s all for now from you friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital printing shop.

Hey Everyone! First of all we just wanted to send a note out thanking all the volunteers for their hard work. Secondly we wanted to let everyone know that we are ok and still framing. We did lose a storage shed that was located behind Wal-Mart that had some molding and things that we didn’t have room for at the store. Thankfully we were very lucky although sometimes feel bad for being lucky with so many people losing everything. Our hearts go out to all of you.

Joplin is showing the country and the world that we come together as one when tragedy strikes. We are very blessed to be associated with a community such as Joplin. As we look into the future Joplin is going to be better because the people won’t let it be any other way. We also would like you to know that we have been taking in lost pictures and posting them on http://www.facebook.com/deckthewallsjoplin. So if you have a chance go over and look so we can find the owners of these pictures so they can have some of their memories back. Well that’s all for now from you friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital printing shop.

Just thought I would dive into the so called 50 % off sales that the big box stores do every week. Don’t be fooled by these so called sales. What they do is raise their prices up and then do a discount off that price. So if they can run the sale every week, then be very cautious. I have called and price the same frame and I typically beat these so called sales by 10-50 dollars at our regular prices. I can’t help to rant on this subject because it upsets me when I see the big boys doing this to their customers. We here at Deck the Walls care about each one of our customers and give you our very best when you are at the store.

I think I’ve said enough on this subject. So that’s all for now from your friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital printing shop.

With the addition of digital printing into our store we’ve made our frame shop a one stop shop. We can take your image right off your camera card, disc, processed image (scan it in) and make it whatever size you would like it to be made. Then we have thousands of frames to choose from on the wall. So we can definitely find a frame that will match your image. Then we can mat it up with any color border that will go with your picture. We have a computerize mat cutter so we can make some fantastic designs to help it pop even more. With all of what I have mentioned we are one of a kind, and the only picture framing shop that can do it from printing the digital image to framing and matting. So if you want HIGH quality work done and it all done it one place, look no farther, we can do it all! Well that’s all from now from your friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital printing shop.

Just a little tip for all those people that have a valuable piece (i.e. signed and number print, diploma, original drawing, etc). Make sure that it is mounted correctly is one of the most important things you can do to protect your investment. It should be mounted on Acid free foam to protect it, and held down in a non-destructive way. Stay away from dry mounting it (adhered to foam or other substrate). These are questions you would want to ask your framer. If you have any questions please ask. This is just a simple description. Until next time, good framing from your friendly neighborhood picture framing a digital printing shop.

Hey everybody, I hope your new year has started out great! I thought I would talk about the importance of glass on your picture. Most people don’t know that there is a big difference between glass. You have regular glass or premium glass has little or no uv protection which means your picture and mat will fade. Even if it’s not in direct sun light because our lighting puts out uv. Then you have conservation glass (which is what we put on 99% of our customer’s art work) which is 99% uv protection. Your art work is protected. Now it still has some glare but be aware that plain non-glare glass is regular glass with a frosty look. You have to get conservation non-glare to be 99% uv protected. A lot of people think if they use non-glare they are protected and the truth is they are not. And museum glass is the best of both worlds it has 99% uv protection and little to no glare it’s like having no glass on the art work. Come into the store and check out our glass display to see the differences.

Well that’s all for now from you friendly neighborhood picture framing and digital printing shop. If you have any questions just give us a call or come by the store. We would love to see you!
